St. George, Utah - March 26, 2025

In the fast-paced world of technology, adaptation is key to survival. St. George-based Vasion has mastered this art, evolving from a niche print management company into a major player in digital transformation.

From Print Management to Automation

Since rebranding from PrinterLogic in 2021, Vasion has expanded beyond print solutions, focusing on automation, infrastructure reduction, and enterprise-level SaaS applications. This transformation has revolutionized business workflows while also driving meaningful community and global initiatives.

A Shift Toward Automation

Vasion’s journey began with a shift from cloud print management to a multi-product automation platform. Chief Product and Technology Officer Corey Ercanbrack, who joined in 2015, sat down with TechBuzz to recall the company's early days when the company had just three developers. Today, Vasion boasts a team of over 160 engineers and product designers, emphasizing its rapid growth and technical capabilities.

“We realized we weren’t just a print management company—we were an infrastructure reduction company,” explained Ercanbrack.

Vasion’s cloud-based SaaS solutions now serve a growing customer base, expanding by 150% since 2021. Its flagship products, Vasion Print, Vasion Output, and Vasion Automate, streamline organizations by automating print and output management for IT, reducing paper-based processes, and enabling digital workflows with built-in AI.

Addressing Enterprise Needs

Vasion’s automation technology is critical for IT teams and large enterprises that rely on legacy systems like SAP, Workday, and Oracle Cerner.

“Companies in manufacturing and healthcare, for instance, depend on automated printing for essential operations—whether it’s food packaging labels or hospital prescription printing,” noted Ercanbrack.

On the document automation front, Vasion Automate helps businesses transition from paper-heavy workflows to streamlined digital operations. For example, a healthcare provider struggling with accounts payable inefficiencies improved processing speeds and accuracy by implementing Vasion’s workflow automation tools, reducing approval timelines from weeks to hours.

By integrating seamlessly with legacy ERP and EMR systems, Vasion’s automation solutions reduce errors, improve compliance, and enhance operational efficiency—whether in financial document approvals or digitizing patient records.

A Commitment to Social Impact

Beyond corporate innovation, Vasion is dedicated to social responsibility. One of its most impactful partnerships is with BASICS International, a nonprofit supporting underprivileged children in Ghana. Through this collaboration, Vasion digitized BASICS’ student application and sponsorship processes, eliminating costly and time-consuming in-person visits.

“What started as a conversation at AWS re:Invent became a full-scale transformation project,” stated Vasion CEO Ryan Wedig. “Our goal is to make digital transformation attainable to everyone, and this partnership embodies that vision.”

Vasion employees went a step further, donating their annual vacation bonuses to sponsor 75 children’s education in Ghana, raising over $100,000. Initially an internal initiative, the effort gained traction within the St. George community and among Vasion’s corporate partners.

BASICS International founder Patricia Wilkins highlighted the significance: “Many companies talk about giving back, but few take action at this level. Vasion has provided both the technology and financial support needed to truly change lives.”

AI-Driven Safe Communication

A key innovation in Vasion’s partnership with BASICS is its AI-powered safe communication tool. Historically, sponsor-child communication was difficult to monitor for safety. Vasion leveraged AWS AI technologies like Textract and Comprehend to scan written letters for personally identifiable information (PII) and inappropriate content, ensuring safe interactions.

Additionally, Vasion integrated AWS Rekognition for image moderation, allowing children to share pictures with sponsors securely. The system flags potentially harmful content for review, reinforcing safety without compromising connection.

“We wanted to enable safe, meaningful communication that fosters long-term sponsorship relationships,” said Ercanbrack.

By implementing AI-driven processes, Vasion enhances donor-child engagement, reduces drop-off rates in sponsorship programs, and maintains human connection while prioritizing security.

Investing in Local Talent

Vasion’s impact extends beyond global initiatives. Locally, the company is partnering with Utah Tech University on an AI and machine learning certification program that will launch this summer, providing students with hands-on experience

“We host Code School and Code Camp events to train the next generation of developers,” stated Ercanbrack. “It’s about building a strong talent pipeline right here in St. George.”

Vasion’s headquarters at Tech Ridge reflects this commitment, featuring cutting-edge facilities designed for innovation and collaboration. With plans to double its workforce within the next two years, the company is positioning itself as a hub for technological advancement in Utah.

Internship programs in software development, product design, and AI research further bridge the gap between education and industry, ensuring students gain real-world skills before entering the workforce.

Looking Ahead

As Vasion continues to expand, its mission remains clear: drive digital transformation while making technology attainable to businesses and communities worldwide. Whether through enterprise automation or philanthropic initiatives, Vasion is demonstrating that innovation and social impact can go hand in hand.

With upcoming advancements in AI-powered automation, Vasion is set to disrupt traditional workflows, providing smarter, more intuitive solutions for businesses of all sizes.

Its long-term goal? A seamless digital ecosystem where enterprises and nonprofits alike can leverage automation without technical barriers.
