Salt Lake City, Utah – April 1, 2025

Everee, a Salt Lake City-based payroll software built for staffing and gig work, and dlivrd, a Pennsylvania-based third-party logistics for delivery drivers, today announced the launch of the Expedite Visa® Pay Card, a card that gives dlivrd drivers near-instant access to earnings. This collaboration marks Everee’s first custom-branded card and is designed to support dlivrd’s driver-centric approach to delivery services.

The Expedite Visa Pay Card allows drivers on the dlivrd platform to get paid quickly after each delivery, including on weekends, holidays, and late nights. Powered by the Visa network, the card can be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.

Chris Heffernan, Founder and CEO, dlivrd

“At dlivrd, we don’t just talk about putting drivers first, we back it up with action,” said Chris Heffernan, founder and CEO of dlivrd. “The Expedite Visa Pay Card isn’t just about paying them faster; it’s about showing them we value their work in real time because waiting to get paid just doesn’t cut it.”

In addition to the Expedite Visa Pay Card, Everee’s payments technology is integrated directly into dlivrd’s app, creating a seamless process for drivers to onboard and manage their earnings.

“Instant earnings are quickly becoming a key differentiator for companies that rely on gig workers,” said Brett Barlow, CEO of Everee. “By partnering with dlivrd to launch this card, we’re helping them strengthen their commitment to drivers and set a new industry standard for catering delivery services. It’s a great example of how our partners can integrate our payroll solutions to make things work better for everyone.”

For restaurants partnering with dlivrd, the focus on driver satisfaction directly benefits the customer experience, allowing them to gain a reputation for having exceptional catering services.

Everee’s Role in Reshaping Payroll

Beyond its partnership with dlivrd, Everee continues to revolutionize payroll by eliminating outdated pay cycles and offering businesses seamless, flexible payment solutions. By addressing inefficiencies in traditional payroll systems, Everee empowers workers with real-time access to their earnings, reducing financial stress and improving job satisfaction.

For decades, payroll systems have operated on rigid biweekly or monthly cycles, leaving employees waiting long periods to receive their hard-earned money. This delay is more than an inconvenience—it can create financial strain, especially for workers living paycheck to paycheck. In an economy where unexpected expenses arise, waiting weeks for a paycheck can mean the difference between stability and hardship.

Brett Barlow, CEO, Everee

Founded in 2018, Everee has built a payroll platform that flips the traditional model, enabling businesses to offer same-day or even instant payments. “Traditional payroll doesn’t reflect how people work today,” explained Barlow. “Workers should be able to access their earnings as they make them, not wait weeks for an arbitrary payday.”

By leveraging cutting-edge financial technology, Everee eliminates delays associated with conventional payroll processing. Employees can access their earnings as soon as they’ve worked, without being bound to fixed pay cycles. The system integrates seamlessly into business operations, making it easy for employers to implement without disrupting cash flow.

The Impact of Instant Pay on Businesses and Workers

This shift in payroll dynamics has significant implications. Financial stress is a leading cause of workplace dissatisfaction, and providing faster access to wages can alleviate that burden. “Employees with immediate access to their earnings report feeling more in control of their finances, leading to higher job satisfaction and productivity,” says an Everee executive.

Employers benefit as well. Companies that prioritize timely pay have a competitive edge in attracting and retaining top talent. Faster payroll options can reduce turnover, improve morale, and create a stronger, more engaged workforce. Businesses across various industries—from gig economy platforms to traditional employers—are embracing the flexibility Everee offers. The platform’s automation and streamlined approach reduce administrative overhead while improving compliance and accuracy, minimizing payroll errors that can frustrate both employees and HR teams.

“Accuracy and efficiency are at the core of what we do. Payroll shouldn’t be a headache for businesses or their employees,” noted Barlow.

As workforce expectations evolve, the traditional concept of waiting weeks for a paycheck feels increasingly outdated. The demand for financial flexibility is growing, and Everee is positioned to meet that need. By removing barriers to accessing earnings, the company is helping to reshape the financial landscape, ensuring that workers have greater autonomy over their income.

Beyond the immediate benefits to employees and businesses, the broader economic impact of real-time payroll is profound. When workers have faster access to their wages, they can manage expenses more effectively, reduce reliance on high-interest loans, and contribute more consistently to the economy. “Giving people control over their money strengthens the economy as a whole,” explained Barlow. “When wages are accessible, people spend more responsibly and avoid financial pitfalls.”

The ripple effect of financial stability among workers extends to local businesses and communities, reinforcing economic resilience. Companies like Everee strengthen Utah’s reputation as a hub for tech-driven innovation. As the fintech space expands, Everee’s influence is set to grow beyond state lines, shaping how payroll functions on a national scale. Its vision extends beyond making payroll faster—it’s about creating a more equitable financial system that empowers employees, supports businesses, and fosters a healthier economy.

Everee is proving that real-time payroll isn’t just a luxury—it’s the future of financial wellness for workers everywhere. “Businesses that don’t adapt to this shift will struggle to attract talent,” Barlow pointed out. “People want control over their money, and employers that recognize this will have an edge.”

As Everee continues to push boundaries, the future of payroll is becoming clearer: a system designed to work for everyone, rather than one constrained by outdated timelines and processes. The shift toward on-demand pay is not a passing trend; it’s a fundamental change in how we think about compensation. Companies that adapt to this new reality will be better positioned for success, and employees will benefit from financial freedom that was once unimaginable.

Everee is leading this transformation, proving that payroll can be fast, flexible, and designed to meet the needs of today’s workforce.
