Guided is an app that emerged from the University of Utah's MBC program. The company was founded in June 2023 in Winter Park, Florida. It is connected to Utah through its Co-founder and CEO, Connor Chase, who resides in Lehi. Guided leverages AI as a meditation and mindfulness tool. From personalized meditations to AI-generated bedtime stories, Guided delivers a unique experience to users.

The app is also available via a generous free trial, as Guided Founder and CEO Connor Chase explains:

“Most apps like Calm and Headspace offer time-limited free trials, but we know it can take time to see the real benefits of our AI-driven meditations. So instead, we offer seven free meditations that users can access whenever they want.”

After the free trial, users can subscribe to Guided for $70 per year or $6 per month. Beyond personalized meditations, Guided offers a suite of features that users can enjoy even after the free trial ends, including AI-generated Sleep Tales, calming timers, colored noises, and a library of soothing, meditation-focused music.

Guided’s AI-generated meditations are designed to provide support to users that may be going through a difficult day, are feeling isolated, or simply need to unwind. Guided’s tailored sessions offer users moments of peace and reflection.

Guided's app also features Sleep Tales—fantasy stories generated and narrated by AI helping users drift off into a peaceful sleep. Additionally, the timer feature allows users to set a desired meditation length with relaxing visuals and calming sounds to create the perfect mindfulness environment.

Music plays a pivotal role in Guided's user experience. The app's soundscapes are crafted by Co-Founder and Head of Marketing Cole Thomas, known in the music world as Philip Somber, with over 60 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music. "Cole is elevating our sound design to a level you’d expect from Disney-Pixar," Chase says.

Guided’s third key team member is CTO Adam Schreck, who manages the technical development of the app, ensuring a smooth and innovative user experience.

Guided attracts users organically through high-demand keywords like ‘AI’ and ‘meditation.’ Although the app has yet to fully implement its marketing strategy, Chase hinted at big moves on the horizon, emphasizing the company’s plans to ramp up its market presence soon.

Guided is actively exploring strategic partnerships that align with its mission, including discussions with well-known brands in the wellness and tech spaces. Chase’s own journey adds depth to these potential collaborations. With a background in design and UX, two successful app exits, and a current role managing a $2 million Sleep Number store, Chase is applying his knowledge and experience to position Guided for growth.
