MyCredibility Raises $1 Million

MyCredibility LLC has recently raised $1 million from friends, family, and founders. The investors wished to remain anonymous. The investment will go to support the firm's go-to-market strategy.

Founded in 2023 by Todd Neilson and Dan Schuyler, MyCredibility is a Salt Lake City, Utah-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) company built for freelancers and job seekers. The company can give credibility to customer references through a patented internal AI analysis process.

Neilson developed the Credibility rating system ten years ago and applied for a patent in 2014. He received the patent in 2021 for the credibility management system that the platform is based on.

Traditionally, establishing the validity and legitimacy of references for job seekers or freelancers has been difficult, according to the company. MyCredibility wants to change that.

“Our focus is on freelancers and job seekers. Any freelancer or job seeker can create a profile and make an introduction video asking for a testimonial from a reference. This reference can make the testimonial video, and our AI engine can give a risk rating to tell you whether it's fake or not. We provide both a credibility and a risk rating. We are trying to establish the credibility of the freelancer and the job seeker in general.” said Todd Neilson, founding partner and board member.

In addition to the risk and credibility rating, the software also considers uneasiness, stress levels, passion, and energy to give a more holistic view of a reference.

“In the United States alone, there are 72 million freelancers, and if you’re in that 72 million, how do you stand out? Our system allows us to differentiate, isolate and stand out.”

“We also help HR and recruiting firms ensure they accurately represent candidates. We are de-risking the hiring of the freelancer,” Neilson continued.
