Organized by Women Tech Council, SheTech Explorer Day 2025 is taking place today. Over 3,500 high school girls assemble for Utah’s largest STEM gathering, offering hands-on workshops, industry mentorship, and interactive experiences.

Today over 3,500 high school girls have assembled at the Mountain American Expo Center in Sandy, Utah for SheTech Explorer Day 2025, the largest annual STEM gathering for girls in Utah. From hearing inspiring words from female STEM leaders to captivating hands-on workshops, SheTech creates an innovative space to activate a talent pipeline into STEM fields through the exploration of endless opportunities.
SheTech Explorer Day is the trademark hands-on tech conference of SheTech, a statewide program of the Women Tech Council, to activate high school girls from grades 9th through 12th to the unlimited opportunities available to them in STEM fields. SheTech Explorer Day brings together thousands of students from over 180 high schools from St George to Logan with over 1000 industry mentors to kick-start their STEM journeys.
There, students are launched into exploring STEM fields and unlocking many professional opportunities. Experimentation is even embodied at TechZone, where tech companies and university departments use interactive demonstrations to bring opportunities to life. The Tech Challenge allows girls to think outside of the box with industry mentors, embracing a new way of innovative thinking with technology.
At SheTech Explorer Day, high school girls discover enriching pathways into STEM fields and are inspired by the opportunities waiting for them. Through workshops in computer science, data science, engineering, entrepreneurship, and chemistry, students develop new ways of thinking and gain exposure to the many opportunities available to them. Through SheTech’s TechZone, girls explore and network with prominent tech companies and discover higher education opportunities, unlocking their potential.
SheTech is a year-round program that creates opportunities for high school girls to gain hands-on experience in STEM careers. Through the mentorship of over 10,000 female industry role models, SheTech actively works to highlight the professional opportunities available to them to close the gender gap in STEM fields and enable further questioning and development. Over 500 tech companies engage in the program to encourage and activate these girls to pursue these lucrative fields.
Statewide, 100% of Utah’s school districts and counties take advantage of the immense benefits of the annual program to bring these opportunities to as many girls as possible. These benefits have directly led to a $250 million economic impact from SheTech students graduating with STEM degrees in the workforce. SheTech has allowed students to succeed in lucrative careers and improve the STEM talent pipeline across the state by creating a welcoming environment at SheTech Explorer Day, where possibilities are endless.
SheTech has enabled 400 female STEM graduates to enter the workforce each year while fostering higher education in STEM fields through awarding 40 SheTech scholarships to support girls in developing their passions. Over 135 SheTech interns and 125 student board members are mobilized annually to expand Shetech’s reach and impact.
SheTech is now in its eleventh year, rapidly activating students and extending professional opportunities to girls in Utah through Explorer Day and explorative internships. Through the SheTech program, over 36,000 SheTech students have been activated across the state, along with over 2,000 educators and 1000 student board members.
Since SheTech started, there have been over 500 SheTech interns and 100 SheTech scholarships granted throughout the program, changing their futures. Through SheTech Summer Internships for exploration with Utah tech companies and TechBuzz Media Internships, students can expand on the exposure from SheTech Explorer Day and hone in on their developing interests through pursuing higher education in STEM fields.
Through Explorer Day, SheTech provides invaluable opportunities that lead to fundamental shifts in thinking about unlocked potential in STEM fields. SheTech has crafted a welcoming space to foster a pipeline of development and future exploration. SheTech's activation allows girls to change their thinking and see themselves in careers they wouldn’t have thought of before. SheTech allows high school girls to embrace their interests and discover new passions in STEM fields. Explorer Day truly is an opportunity that will change these girls' lives through STEM exploration.
